The great banquet hall of the Castle of Turku was fit up as a Lutheran church nearly 300 years ago. Today, the church that belongs to the parish of Mikael is available to all parishes. Divine services are held there on Sundays, not on a regular basis, however. The church is a popular scene of marriage and christening ceremonies. The Castle church was renovated in 1961 and repaired 1990-1992.
